At least 55 % of the Federal Discretionary Budget Pays for War
55 Percent of the discretionary budget -- from our taxes -- pays for war, according to analysis by the National Priorities Project in the fall of 2009. The time period leading up to April 15, when federal tax forms and payments are due, is an excellent time to raise questions about federal government spending priorities with other people in your community and your members of Congress. For more information on the federal budget, visit FCNL and the National Priorities Project.
95 YEARS! Our Birthday is April 28
In 1915 the women who met at the Hague in protest of World War I created a vision for WILPF, and we in 2009 find ourselves in similar circumstances. WILPF continues the vision internationally through 37 national sections, offices at the UN in New York and Geneva, and through our US Section. We urge you to support the oldest continuously operating peace group in the US. More information and resources available at our WILPF US National site. Please Donate.
